About Dr. Richard Hornby
- I provide a quality, warm, flexible and confidential therapy sessions in a comfortable environment, it helps my clients to alleviate their symptoms, reduce levels of discomfort and assist in change by helping them to gain insight into their problems.
- I offer a free 10 minute initial telephone consultation for both of us to decide if we are suited.
- If you choose to work with me, you will find that I work in an emphatic and sensitive way.
My training, work experience and any achievement
- I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor and also have had many years’ experience of working as a medical doctor and GP in the NHS.- I work with young adults and adult clients who are seeking help with a wide range of problems including anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, phobias, bereavement, relational and sexual problems, low self-esteem, difficulties in making choices and transitions, eating disorders and problems stemming from childhood, and bodily illnesses with emotional components.
- I am particularly interested in trauma and the far-reaching human problems ensuing from the recent coronavirus pandemic.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (University of Brighton 2013)
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (University of London 1985)
- I abide by the code of professional ethics of the BACP of which I am a member.
- Member of the Royal College of Physicians of London
- I am fully insured, both personally and publicly.
- I receive regular professional supervision and postgraduate education.
